Our FASHION Magazine took home two awards, including Best Fashion & Beauty magazine, and our Toronto Life earned three medals recognizing editorial excellence.

The 41st annual National Magazine Awards were announced on June 1 in Toronto, celebrating excellence in content creation of Canadian print and digital publications. We are proud of our Toronto Life and FASHION Magazine teams, earning three and two awards respectively.

FASHION Magazine took home one of the six coveted Best Magazine Grand Prix Awards, winning for Best Fashion & Beauty Magazine. FASHION also won the Cover Grand Prix for its 40th anniversary issue, “40 Years of Style,” and earned seven Honourable Mentions.

Toronto Life won three writing awards. The coveted Best New Magazine Writer title went to emerging writer – and the magazine’s former art director – Jessica Rose, who impressed the judges with her piece “Lost and Found.” Writer Raizel Robin won a Gold medal for her investigation into the Toronto South Detention Centre (“The 1-Billion Hellhole”) and Malcolm Johnston’s profile of the Blue Jays’ star third-baseman, titled “Josh Donaldson’s Road to Glory,” earned a Silver. Toronto Life also received six Honourable Mentions.
