HOURS OF WORK: Permanent – Full Time including benefits (37.50 hrs per week) 
COMPENSATION: Up to $16.00 per hour
LOCATION:  London, Ontario

Position Overview:

We are seeking to recruit a Print Operator to assist at a client site for the Corporation of the City of London. Reporting to the Site Manager, the Print Operator will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and quality print production. In addition to exemplary relationship building skills, accuracy, speed and retention are the cornerstones of this position, working in a fast-paced and challenging environment.  If you are a detail-oriented person who enjoys a busy work environment while juggling several tasks and helping customers, this is the position for you.

Security Clearance: Secret

Please note that there will be reliability and security clearance checks for every candidate who does not have the Secret Security Clearance.  

Responsibilities:

  • Operates all production equipment relating to printing/mail inserting/binding in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ensures that production and quality standards are met according to client and company expectations
  • Manipulates digital files with the appropriate software as required
  • Greets, interacts and serves clients in a friendly, respectful and knowledgeable manner
  • Quickly works towards established priorities according to delivery dates, present schedule and material requirements
  • Controls inventory and completes administrative tasks as assigned
  • Effectively multi-tasks to complete work and submit production reports as required
  • Ensures all equipment and work site is maintained as required; ensure the workstation is kept safe and clean at all times
  • Fully understand and clarify all customer requests in order to effectively meet and exceed requirements/expectations; discuss client requirements in a consultative manner and provide alternatives and options
  • Receive customer orders; assist with electronic invoicing and order entry
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures to ensure continuous improvement in service quality and maintain cost effectiveness; perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental company policies and government legislation/regulations
  • Participate in all required health and safety training; use or wear any equipment, protective devices or clothing required by the company
  • Report any defect in any equipment or protective device e.g. PPE, machine guarding which may be hazardous to either themselves or another worker; report any injury, illness or hazardous condition/act immediately to their supervisor or manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management

Qualifications, Education and Experience Required:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in printing and bindery.  Previous experience in a Print-on-Demand facility with a strong understanding of print applications and production requirements is preferred.  Previous experience in high-volume restaurant and retail considered an asset
  • Proficient skills with MS Office, Adobe Acrobat and Command Workstation.  Efficient technology skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication abilities and relationship building skills with a commitment to client excellence required
  • Attention to detail coupled with very effective organizational, trouble-shooting and multi-tasking skills
  • Must be able to work overtime as client requires, between hours of 8am-8pm weekdays and weekends
