SJC and Trees for Life are excited to announce the successful completion of a special tree planting event at Boyd Conservation Area on October 24, 2024, to commemorate the launch of 3, a new magazine aimed at Canadian newcomers and global citizens that celebrates the country’s rich diversity.
As founding partner of Trees for Life, SJC has long been committed to sustainability through its Partners in Growth program, which plants a tree for every ton of paper used in client print projects and SJC’s own media magazines. To date, the program has resulted in the planting of millions of trees across Canada, contributing to a greener, more sustainable future.
This year’s event holds special significance, as SJC has partnered with 369 Global to celebrate the launch of 3 magazine, co-published by 369 Global and SJC Media. The event will include the planting of three symbolic trees, representing the magazine’s focus on third culture individuals—people influenced both by their parents' culture and the culture in which they are raised.
“This event represents the intersection of environmental stewardship and the celebration of Canada’s inspiring newcomers, who like my father, planted roots in this country to make a positive impact,” said Tony Gagliano, CEO of SJC. “SJC has a decades-long commitment to tree planting, and it’s extra special to be planting trees in celebration of the launch of 3 magazine with one of our valued clients, 369 Global.”
Mark Cullen, Founding Chair of Trees for Life, added, “SJC has been a cornerstone partner in our mission to plant trees and improve the environment for all Canadians. We are proud to support this event alongside 369 Global to commemorate a magazine that represents the beauty of Canada's diversity and the importance of creating a sustainable future.”
Muraly Srinarayanathas, Publisher of 3 and CEO of 369 Global, stated, “It’s an honour to plant trees as a symbol of growth and new beginnings. The magazine 3 was created to celebrate the diverse stories of Canadian newcomers and there is no better way to mark its launch than by giving back to the environment and inviting the community to participate.”
