SJC and Trees for Life recently hosted a meaningful tree planting at Boyd Conservation Area on October 24, 2024. The event commemorated the launch of 3, a new magazine aimed at Canadian newcomers and global citizens, celebrating the country’s rich diversity.
A founding partner of Trees for Life, SJC has long been committed to sustainability through its Partners in Growth® program, which plants a tree for every ton of paper used in client print projects and SJC’s own magazines. To date, the program has resulted in the planting of millions of trees across Canada, contributing to a greener, more sustainable future.
Every year, SJC provides hands-on support for a Trees for Life planting on behalf of Partners in Growth®, engaging SJC staff and clients in the process. This year’s event held special significance, as SJC involved 369 Global to celebrate the launch of 3 magazine, co-published by 369 Global and SJC Media (and printed by SJC Print, an active contributor to the Partners in Growth® program!) Mark Radha, Chief Strategy Officer, attended on behalf of 369 Global along his family and colleagues.
Tree planting is a powerful way to bring people together, reflecting Canada’s diversity and our shared connection to nature. The event included the planting of three symbolic trees, representing 3 magazine’s focus on third culture individuals—people influenced both by their parents' culture and the culture in which they are raised.

Following the dedication, volunteers from SJC, Trees for Life, and 369 Global planted over 100 native trees, with expert tree-planting guidance provided by the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority.
Tree planting is one of the simplest yet most impactful actions we can take to combat climate change, improve air quality and create greener spaces for future generations.
“SJC has been a cornerstone partner in our mission to plant trees and improve the environment for all Canadians,” says Mark Cullen, Founding Chair of Trees for Life, added, “We were proud to host this event involving 369 Global to commemorate a magazine that represents the beauty of Canada's diversity and the importance of creating a sustainable future.”
